God’s Response

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. 1 Peter 5:8-9

[The devil] was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44

The purpose of evil is to defy God and wear you down so that you will sin—or at least become useless for God. Be alert at all times. Satan will distort God’s Word. He’ll make the words of teachers or professors who don’t believe in God seem to make sense and he’ll try to make you doubt your faith. The battle is on—and your heart is ground zero.

This Is Promising

Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. Colossians 2:8
