Preparation
Preparation
Does God prepare me for what he has in store for me?
God’s Response
When her son was born, she named him Samson. And the LORD blessed him as he grew up. . . . The Spirit of the LORD began to stir him. . . . One day Samson went to the Philistine town of Gaza and spent the night with a prostitute. . . . He didn’t realize the LORD had left him. So the Philistines captured him. Judges 13:24-25; 16:1, 20-21
If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. 2 Timothy 2:21
As soon as Samson was born, God’s Spirit began to work in him to get his attention. God wanted to prepare Samson for his unique work, but Samson was supposed to do his part in return—listen for God’s voice, obey his clear instructions, and act on the opportunities God would bring him. Sadly, Samson didn’t do these things and never reached his full potential. What is the Spirit of the Lord preparing you for? The key to recognizing his work in your life is to obey God’s clear instructions for living as found in the Bible. If you follow God in simple obedience, you will walk through the doors of opportunity that he opens for you.
