On My Own

On My Own

Why do I often feel like an outsider?

God’s Response

Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. 1 Peter 2:11

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Romans 12:2

I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me! Psalm 119:19

Chances are that you will feel like an outsider at times. In reality, you are an outsider because your real home is heaven. As a Christian, you know in your heart that things aren’t all right on earth now—life was not meant to include crime, violence, backbiting, hatred, power grabbing, lying, and cheating. Someday God will make everything right again and you’ll feel at home. In the meantime, keep your relationship with Jesus as top priority; only then will you have the proper perspective about earth right now.

This Is Promising

What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. Luke 6:22
