No Excuses

How can I please God?

God’s Response

But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?”God answered, “I will be with you.” Exodus 3:11-12

Moses protested again, “What if they won’t believe me or listen to me? What if they say, ‘The LORD never appeared to you’?” Exodus 4:1

Moses pleaded with the LORD, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” Exodus 4:10

You can please God by refusing to make excuses when he asks you to serve him. Even the great leader Moses made excuses and upset God by his unwillingness to serve. We all make excuses—we’re afraid, too busy, not qualified, too tired. But when God places a need before you and impresses it on your mind, chances are he is calling you to step forward and help meet that need. Step out and watch God do great things through you.

This Is Promising

Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. Deuteronomy 31:6
