I Wasn’t Thinking

I Wasn’t Thinking

How can I become more thoughtful of others?

God’s Response

Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. James 1:19

Don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God. Hebrews 13:16

Train yourself to be godly. 1 Timothy 4:7

Do you get mad at yourself for missing someone’s birthday, not taking part in a missions event, not visiting a friend in the hospital, or not opening the door at the store for a little old lady? Most of us would like to be more thoughtful. A lot of times we think about helping someone but don’t do it. Two things can help you be more thoughtful. First, realize that as human beings, we’re all pretty self-focused. You’re going to need God’s help to be aware of others. Ask him to give you a more thoughtful spirit and the alertness to see opportunities to be of help. Second, train your mind by thinking ahead to things you can do today and during this week to help others. Write these things on your calendar to remind you. As you check them off, you’ll develop the great habit of thinking more about others.

This Is Promising

Do to others as you would like them to do to you. Luke 6:31
