Horror Show

Is it okay to watch horror movies? Where should I draw the line?

God’s Response

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8

It is what comes from inside that defiles you. For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts. Mark 7:20-21

This is one of those areas where you may or may not be more sensitive than others. You need to draw the line at the place where you feel that what you are putting into your mind is affecting your life. While it may not be a sin to go to a particular movie, take the time to consider how that movie made you feel. What kinds of thoughts did it provoke? The real test is whether watching that movie took you one step closer to God or one step further away. Be very careful. There is plenty of horror in the real world; repeated exposure to horror desensitizes you over time until you no longer see what is wrong with it.

This Is Promising

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14
