Heavenly Bodies

Heavenly Bodies

What will my body be like after it is resurrected?

God’s Response

Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies. . . . Our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever. 1 Corinthians 15:43-44, 50

Your resurrected body will be a literal, physical body like the one you have now, and it will also have many supernatural characteristics. You may be able to walk through walls as Jesus did with his resurrected body. More importantly, your new body won’t ever decay from the effects of sin. You will never be sick or in pain again, nor will your mind think sinful thoughts. You will never again compare yourself to other bodies or wish that you were different. You will be fully and finally perfect in God’s sight.

This Is Promising

Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. 1 Corinthians 15:42
