Forgiven And Forgotten

How can I get over the stupid things I’ve said or done?

God’s Response

If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9

You are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. Colossians 1:22

Sometimes forgiving yourself is the hardest thing to do, usually because you feel guilty or you realize how deeply you have hurt someone. The Bible says that when you confess your sin to Jesus, he forgives you totally and completely. He looks at you as though you had never sinned. You will still have to deal with the consequences that your sin has set in motion, but as far as God is concerned, your heart is clean and you’re ready for a fresh start. When you forgive yourself as Jesus has forgiven you, you will experience the joy and freedom God wants to give you.
