Can I feel peaceful in a world that is anything but peaceful?

God’s Response

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am. John 14:27-28

Jesus gave the disciples peace that would help them through their times of trial ahead. Jesus’ peace does not guarantee the absence of trouble, for even Jesus faced excruciating spiritual, physical, and emotional struggles. Instead, Jesus’ peace supplies strength and comfort for the burdens you are called to carry and gives you a rock-solid confidence that your future is secure. The world can only offer temporary peace in the form of limited distractions. True inner peace comes only through a relationship with Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

This Is Promising

He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Isaiah 53:5
