Danger Zones

Danger Zones

Many things are happening that distract me from my faith. How can I deal with the distractions?

God’s Response

Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”“Yes, come,” Jesus said.So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” Matthew 14:28-31

Distractions take our focus off of Jesus. We can be in the middle of doing great things, but if we take our eyes off of Jesus even for a moment, we begin to sink! Distractions prevent us from moving toward God into unfamiliar territory that helps us grow and brings great rewards. You can’t focus on the distractions of life and still get closer to God. Make clear goals regularly for how you will serve God, and then follow those goals without wavering. You will be less likely to be sidetracked by distractions.
