Confrontation

Confrontation

I have a Christian friend who is starting to do bad things. How can I confront him/her?

God’s Response

The LORD sent Nathan the prophet to tell David this story. . . . David was furious. “As surely as the LORD lives,” he vowed, “any man who would do such a thing deserves to die!” . . . Then Nathan said to David, “You are that man!” 2 Samuel 12:1, 5, 7

David had done an extremely evil act (read about it in 2 Samuel 11), and God sent the prophet Nathan to confront him. Nathan helped David to see his sin by putting the situation in story form. When David realized what he had done, he repented. Sometimes a story can mirror our heart and actions. If your friend is headed the wrong direction, ask God to give you the right words that will help your friend to realize what he or she is doing. If you don’t say it, who will?

This Is Promising
