Atheism
Some people at school claim to be atheists. What does that mean?
God’s Response
Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” Psalm 14:1
Ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:20
Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again?” 2 Peter 3:3-4
Atheists say there is no God. They don’t want to recognize God because then they would have to respond to him and obey his rules. They believe that this life is all there is, so they can live however they please without eternal consequences. But if there is no God, why spend so much time and energy trying to prove he doesn’t exist? What we decide about God’s existence is literally a choice between life and death. If we decide that he exists, we must then decide how we will respond to his clear message in the Bible.
This Is Promising
His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us. Acts 17:27
