Assurance Of Salvation

Assurance of Salvation

How can I be sure that I’m saved?

God’s Response

God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News. . . . I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return. 2 Timothy 1:10-12

The simple and easy answer is “because the Bible says so.” That sounds ridiculously trite, but it really is true. Assurance does not come from how good or faithful you are, but from how good and faithful God is. Assurance does not come from your feelings; it comes from the Word of God. When this truth begins to sink into your soul, then you will have the growing confidence that if you have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, his promise of salvation applies to you.

This Is Promising

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
