Anger And Self-control

Anger and Self-Control

How can I keep my anger from controlling my actions?

God’s Response

“Don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. Ephesians 4:26-27

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32

Anger is not necessarily sinful, but it easily becomes a breeding ground for sinful thoughts and actions if it is not dealt with. Determine not to let your anger fester. Find ways to resolve conflict as quickly as possible so that your anger doesn’t give the devil a foothold. Bitterness and resentment are poisons that will consume you unless you can find a way to forgive and leave your pain in God’s hands. His Holy Spirit has the power to help you do this if you ask.

This Is Promising

The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: . . . self-control. Galatians 5:22-23
