Is there any wisdom apart from God? Is he the only source of wisdom?

God’s Response

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn your back on evil. Proverbs 3:7

In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:3

The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, “God catches those who think they are wise in their own cleverness.” 1 Corinthians 3:19

True wisdom comes from God. Although God may use other resources—such as the world he created or other people—to provide you with his wisdom, be careful to evaluate these other sources. While they may seem insightful or able to offer good advice at times, screen everything against the wise words of God recorded in the Bible. When you read the truth every day, you will get better at discerning the lies of the evil one.
