How can I gain wisdom?

God’s Response

Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, that I may honor you. Psalm 86:11

Lead me in the right path, O LORD. . . . Tell me clearly what to do, and show me which way to turn. Psalm 5:8

If you need wisdom—if you want to know what God wants you to do—ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. James 1:5

Giving God first place in your life is a prerequisite to receiving his wisdom. God promises to give wisdom to anyone who asks, but asking God for wisdom is hollow if you are not willing to give God control of your heart. Wisdom comes from the Holy Spirit who lives in those who believe in Christ. Thus wisdom is found in relationship with God.
