Thoughts

Thoughts

How can I discipline my mind and thoughts?

God’s Response

Commit yourselves completely to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands as a reminder, and wear them on your forehead. Deuteronomy 11:18

I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. Psalm 119:15

Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8

Try to think about what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. You can do that by committing God’s Word to memory or inviting God into your thought life to make you more accountable. Be open for him to radically change the way you think. When you dwell on the good in your life, and all you have to be thankful for, you won’t have room for anything else.

God’s Challenge

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Psalm 139:23-24
