Thankfulness

Thankfulness

How can I be thankful even in the tough times?

God’s Response

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6

No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

While it is hard to be thankful for the tough times, you can be thankful in them. Our outlook on life determines how we view our problems. If we see them only as problems, we will usually develop an attitude of bitterness, cynicism, and hopelessness. If we see them as a crucible for strengthening our character and convictions, then we are better able to rise above them, and even thank God for how they are refining our lives.

God’s Promise

Since we are his children, we will share his treasures—for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours, too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will give us later. Romans 8:17-18
