The most dangerous temptations are often those which at first seem rather harmless. Sin often begins with just a small step away from God—then another and another, until you suddenly find yourself far from him. Rather than focusing on avoiding the ultimate temptation, avoid that first step that takes you slightly away from God. Commit yourself today to staying dead center on God’s path.

God’s Challenge

Let heaven fill your thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth. . . . So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Colossians 3:2, 5
