Reflection

Reflection

How is character developed?

God’s Response

Remember how the LORD your God led you through the wilderness for forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would really obey his commands. Deuteronomy 8:2

Obedience is far better than sacrifice. Listening to him is much better than offering the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22

You are not born with godly character; it is a process that comes only through time, experience, humility, and testing. When you realize you are not all you’d like to be, when you make a commitment to know God and read his Word, and when you face tough challenges and choose wisely, your character will increasingly become a better reflection of God’s character.

God’s Promise

Endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. Romans 5:4
