How does Jesus bring peace into my life?

God’s Response

Don’t be troubled. You trust God, now trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you plainly. When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know where I am going and how to get there. John 14:1-4

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3

There are so many things that affect peace: chaos, conflict, interruptions, wars, busyness, worry, fear. How can we have peace from all that? On this earth, you can’t prevent many of these things from invading your life, but you can have peace—a quiet, unshakable confidence—about the outcome. How do some people have such peace just before they are martyred for their faith in Jesus? They know where they are going. If you had ten million dollars in the bank, you wouldn’t worry about providing for your family if you lost your job. In the same way, if you have banked treasure in heaven, you don’t worry about losing your life on earth. Let that assurance keep you from panicking in today’s storms. The outcome is certain.
