Past
Past
How can I benefit from the past?
God’s Response
Don’t long for “the good old days,” for you don’t know whether they were any better than today. Ecclesiastes 7:10
No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. Philippians 3:13
Remember the days of long ago; think about the generations past. Ask your father and he will inform you. Inquire of your elders, and they will tell you. Deuteronomy 32:7
While remembering the past can be healthy, living in the past is not. The past cannot be changed. You can learn from the past so that you don’t repeat your mistakes. Your past is most beneficial when you use it to improve your future. Apply the lessons you learn, move forward, and help others to keep from making the same mistakes you did.
God’s Challenge
Will not even one of you apply these lessons from the past? Isaiah 42:23
