Why is it important for me to set goals?

I brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything you told me to do. John 17:4

A goal keeps you focused on your primary mission and helps to structure your life. Jesus’ goal of giving salvation shaped the way he lived every day and guided his every interaction with others. We are often tempted to do too much, but God gives us only what we can accomplish while living a godly, balanced life. God is not glorified by our doing everything we can possibly do, but by our fulfilling the specific tasks he has for us. What are God’s goals for your life?
