Forgiveness - The One Year Mini for Men

Forgiveness

How can I become better at forgiving others?

God’s Response

Jesus said, “Father, forgive these people, because they don’t know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15

When you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too. Mark 11:25

Forgiveness is rarely easy. Humility and compassion are necessary if you want to accomplish it. First, it’s important to remember the sins you have committed that God has already forgiven, simply because he loves you and has given you mercy. In reality, your sins and those of every other human being make you individually responsible for Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Second, remember that many people are simply lost and don’t know what they are doing. Though they may not deserve it, they still need your compassion and forgiveness.

God’s Challenge

You must make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13
