Change

Change

Is change necessary?

God’s Response

Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out upon the Gentiles, too. And there could be no doubt about it, for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter asked, “Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?” So he gave orders for them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 10:45-48

You have clothed yourselves with a brand-new nature that is continually being renewed as you learn more and more about Christ, who created this new nature within you. Colossians 3:10

God is in the business of changing lives. We are always changing in response to his call, and becoming more and more like him. Leaders are, by definition, also in the business of change. Whether it is helping others change raw materials into finished products, changing people from uneducated to educated, or leading others through political and social change, a good leader understands the necessity of change and the tensions involved in changing. Change is one of the few constants in life, but the key question is: Are you changing for better or for worse?

God’s Promise
