Behavior
What kind of behavior serves God best?
God’s Response
You should behave . . . like God’s very own children. Romans 8:15
Let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:16
Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
We are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with self-control, right conduct, and devotion to God. Titus 2:12
Our families often have distinct characteristics, sometimes so much so that a person meeting us for the first time can guess which family we belong to if they know another member of our family. Your lifestyle also reflects upon your heavenly family. As part of God’s family, your behaviors reflect back on him and may be used by others to decide what they believe about God, so take your behavior seriously and do your best to glorify your father in heaven.
God’s Challenge
It isn’t enough just to have faith. Faith that doesn’t show itself by good deeds is no faith at all—it is dead and useless. James 2:17
