Use The Hierarchy

Use the Hierarchy

Call for your brother, Aaron, and his sons. . . . Set them apart from the rest of the people of Israel so they may . . . be my priests. Exodus 28:1

I wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve seen one of those graphs depicting a flat organizational structure.

Someone is always coming up with another idea for taking the hierarchy out of corporate structures.

Talk to the leaders in these companies (you’ll find them in the larger offices) and quiz them about why they went flat. They will respond with words such as shifting the lines of authority, decentralizing the authority model, or similar mumbo jumbo.

The bottom line is that these ideas are neither effective nor based on biblical truth.

Aaron and his sons were set apart from the rest.

We are created equal in God’s sight, and each person is worthy, but someone is always set apart to lead. Someone always decides which holidays are going to be paid and when folks can wear jeans to the office.
