Think Grand Thoughts

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” Isaiah 55:8

Here’s another of God’s leadership attributes we can imitate: He encourages us to dream big dreams and think grand thoughts.

God described his new plan for salvation to Isaiah. He had already said that he was going to do something new, and here he issued a challenge: “Go ahead and dream. I want you to stretch your mind. I’m not concerned, because there’s no way you are going to come up with anything bigger or grander or more spectacular than I have.”

God plants seeds of vision in you; he wants you to take your skills as far as they will go. Don’t hold back. God takes pleasure in watching his children do what he created them to do.

Go for it.

While you’re at it, issue the same challenge to the people who report to you. Give them the freedom to think beyond the horizon.

Learn to say, “Here’s my idea. How can we make it better?”
