Ah, technology.

Using the Internet, I can arrange a video conference with people in six different time zones. We can share files, draw on each other’s screens, and have a transcriptionist provide notes for everyone within hours of the meeting’s end.

Paul was an effective communicator. His letters were first-century blogs and podcasts. His messengers were human MP3 files and QuickTime movies.

Paul also understood the value of being face-to-face with people.

Nothing can replace shaking people’s hands, sitting across the table from them, sharing a meal, or sitting in their offices and looking out their windows.
