Monitor Staff Morale

This is what Pharaoh says: I will not provide any more straw for you. Go and get it yourselves. Find it wherever you can. But you must produce just as many bricks as before! Exodus 5:10-11

The office manager stands in front of her staff, saying, “Management has decided they can’t afford to fill our two openings. With things as tight as they are, we’re not allowed any more overtime, even during the software upgrade scheduled for next week.”

Go back and read the verse from Exodus. From a staff-morale perspective, there’s no difference between the modern version and the one from ancient Egypt.

You might argue that the motives are different, but motives don’t mean much when workers are pushed to their limits through no fault of their own.
