Remember God’s Promises

The people of Israel . . . panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the LORD, and they said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness?” Exodus 14:10-11

Don’t you just want to scream? How quickly these people forgot who was in charge! Wasn’t it just the day before that God’s pillar of cloud was in front of them?

Oh wait—it’s still there. What gives?

People lose sight of the vision very quickly, and you can’t let this surprise you or get you offtrack.

Moses didn’t skip a beat. He just repeated the promise, “Stay calm. The Lord himself will fight for you.”

Human beings are predictable creatures. You can count on them to react the same way in similar situations, so you can pretty well guess when someone is going to lose sight of the vision.

Take a cue from Moses and stick with the plan. A calm and controlled response to their panic will do wonders for their perception of you as a leader who is in charge and worthy of following.
