Recall Your Burning Bush

Recall Your Burning Bush

When the LORD saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!” Exodus 3:4

My pastor has a great way of encouraging his elder board to make tough decisions. “There’s a time,” he says, “when elders just need to be elders.”

You owe it to the people who follow you to step up and do the job you were called to do.

For Moses, it all started at the bush. He tried to convince God to pick someone else, but in the end he accepted the mantle of leadership and changed the world.

Leaders have a responsibility to lead, and until they exercise their “burning bush authority” to do so, they aren’t really doing so.

Is there a similar incident in your history? Do you have a burning bush story to tell?

I wonder if Moses ever sat alone in his tent and thought about the burning bush. If he did, it must have given him new energy for the difficult events of his life.
