Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is

Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:21

If you want to know what’s really important to an organization, don’t read their mission statement—spend an hour looking at their budget and their fiscal policies.

Does the organization talk about the importance of strong family relationships? The budget should allow them to hire enough people so that workers (including executives) can spend adequate time away from the job.

How do they decide on the price for something? Do they ask, “How much can we charge?” or “What’s the lowest possible price we can afford to set?”

Do they claim, “People are our most important asset”? Look at the wage scale. Is it the highest or the lowest for their area and industry?

Fiscal responsibility is not the issue. That’s a given. There’s a more serious question to ask.

Are you putting your money where your heart is?
