Make Strategic Plans

I will make Pharaoh’s heart stubborn so I can multiply my miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt. Exodus 7:3

God is a master strategist.

Each of the seven plagues enacted a slightly different indignity on Pharaoh. Each built on the preceding calamity, and each was perfectly timed to achieve the maximum effect.

It was a step-by-step plan. The chapters of Exodus following today’s text outline the plagues as they unfold around Pharaoh.

There is real pleasure in developing a detailed strategic plan and watching it blossom. God could have simply rubbed Pharaoh into the sand, but we’re told that God wanted to teach Pharaoh a lesson about his sovereignty.
