Lighten The Burden

Lighten the burden of those who work for you. Isaiah 58:6

This is a very complex issue, but far too many organizations are increasing their profit margins at the expense of their workers.

Two salaried employees are expected to do the work of three. Hourly workers are required to do more with less. Firms report record profits, but employees constantly fear that their positions will be eliminated to keep stockholders happy.

The organizations’ leaders face tremendous pressure to bring the numbers in-line with bank ratios, investor requirements, and board directives, but God is crystal clear in his instructions.

His directive in Isaiah says nothing about profit margins, stockholder equity, or market pressure.

There is no justification for building your own nest on the back of another.

This isn’t something you can fix quickly or on your own. Make a personal commitment to discuss this with your executive team within the next month.

Honestly weigh your corporate reality against God’s simple instructions.
