Excite People’s Emotions

All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the LORD. Exodus 35:21

Three elements are inherent in any effective marketing campaign. I call them the “Three Es”:

Engage their attention,

Excite their emotions, and

Energize them to act.

This verse is a great example of the second E, Excite their emotions.

It wasn’t obligation that motivated the people to make sacrificial gifts. They were moved by a vision.

Read further and find the word willingly (Exodus 35:23). They weren’t forced, coerced, or shamed into participating. Logic and responsibility aren’t mentioned.

They were given a glimpse of the future in Moses’ vivid description of God’s plans for the Tabernacle, and they wanted to be part of it.

One aspect of great leadership is the ability to excite people’s emotions.
