Enjoy Your Work

I saw that there is nothing better for people than to be happy in their work. Ecclesiastes 3:22

The little company had grown faster than anyone imagined possible. One year, the annual picnic was held in the founder’s backyard. The following year, they rented the city park and hired a caterer.

The founder stood on a picnic table and raised his hands to bless the meal.

“Before I pray for the food, let me thank you all for being here. This last year has been incredible, and I promise that I will do everything I can to ensure that we continue to have as much fun working together as we do right now.”

The author of Ecclesiastes reminds us that no one will bring us back to enjoy life after we die, so we should be happy in our work.

Perhaps the best investment you can make in your organization is to follow the example of the company founder who vowed to help his team enjoy their time with him.
