Intuit, the software giant that sells TurboTax and Quicken, presents a “Swing for the Fence” award to employees who come up with incredible ideas, even if they fail.
Marketing people at Intuit say that the purpose of the recognition is to “foster a culture of experimentation.” By honoring big ideas regardless of their outcomes, the company hopes to generate ideas that will “change and improve the business.”
