Do What You Say You Will Do

Do What You Say You Will Do

God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says. 1 Corinthians 1:9

The fund-raising department of a large private university waited anxiously for word on the selection of a new director.

When the final choice was announced, the team was excited. Although no one in the department had ever worked with the new director, she had a reputation for following through on her commitments. Many references mentioned a plaque that hung on her office wall, which said,

I will do

what I say

I will do

Leading involves taking people to places they haven’t been, showing them things they’ve never seen, and encouraging them to do things they have never done.

It’s easier to get people out of their comfort zones if they trust that you can deliver the goods. Paul reminded the church in Corinth that God had been faithful, to them and their ancestors, for thousands of years.

Your team needs a leader they can trust to be there when the vision gets blurry and goals seem out of reach.

Are you that leader?
