Anticipate People’s Needs

Then Jesus called his disciples and told them, “I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry, or they will faint along the way.” Matthew 15:32

As a good leader, Jesus was aware of people’s needs. His amazing connection with people and his ability to anticipate their needs came from a genuine understanding of their condition. He must have drawn on his personal experience of being hungry in the wilderness in order to relate to what they were feeling.

As a leader, it’s tempting to focus on the future and forget about the past, leaving followers to fend for themselves as they scramble to keep up.

Jesus stopped and looked back to make sure his followers were able to keep up. Do you remember what it was like to be part of the crowd?
