Experiencing God's Presence #273

Experiencing God's Presence #273

When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

John 14:20

In John 14:8, one of the disciples asked Jesus to show them the Father. In the only kind of language one can use to express infinite thoughts to finite minds, Jesus explained that the Father was in Jesus doing His work and that Jesus was in the Father—and that anyone who believes these things can do the same works Jesus did. It’s a mystery—hence the lofty verbiage—but it’s true. Jesus and the Father are united as one, and those who believe are united with them.

The Resurrection is confirmation of these things. It was a testimony confirming all that Jesus did and said, but it was also a spiritual explosion of power that continues to ripple through the centuries. It’s evidence that the God who rules over creation has entered human history and reoriented it. Through the power of the Resurrection, we are now united with Jesus and with God—as one. We are in Him and He is in us. Life is new.

Are you living a new life? Few Christians feel Resurrection power coursing through them, but according to the Word, we are one with the risen Lord. That doesn’t mean ease or comfort, but it does mean we walk through trials and tribulations with an ability to overcome them. Today’s troubles are tomorrow’s trophies for those who are filled with God’s Presence. Recognize the power at work in you and choose to live in it.

Jesus, show me what it means for You to be in me and for me to be in You. Enable me to live my life in Resurrection power—in Your strength and wisdom and love. Help me do the works that You did and share in the unity You have with the Father.
