Dealing With Doubt
Dealing with Doubt
Read Psalm 119:1-20
I will delight in your principles and not forget your word. Psalm 119:16
At times, people wonder why a woman would spend so much time reading the Bible and praying. Maybe in a crunch you have told yourself, “I’m too busy to have a quiet time. Why pray? I need to just work harder and not spend my valuable minutes praying.” Perhaps you have forgotten just why so much of the Christian life centers on time in the Word:
- For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does (Psalm 33:4, NIV). Do you want to be faithful in all you do?
- How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word (119:9, NIV). Do you want a pure life?
- I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you (v. 11, NIV). Do you want to keep from sin?
- My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word (v. 28, NIV). Do you need strength for the journey?
- Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word (v. 37, NIV). Do you need help staying focused on the positive?
- Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path (v. 105, NIV). Do you need guidance?
- You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word (v. 114, NIV). Do you need shelter from a storm?
- Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me (v. 133, NIV). Do you want to be in control of your life instead of life controlling you?
These are just a few of the benefits of reading the Word. I don’t have the time not to be in the Word!
