Prayer 2
Prayer 2
I will be careful to live a blameless life. . . . I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.
Psalm 101:2
In yesterday’s devotional I suggested some verses from the Bible that a mom might pray back to God for her children. Today I want to focus on verses that we moms might pray for ourselves.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)
If you need wisdom—if you want to know what God wants you to do—ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. (James 1:5)
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (Ephesians 3:16-19)
Your own soul is nourished when you are kind, but you destroy yourself when you are cruel. (Proverbs 11:17)
Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do. (Proverbs 4:23)
The Lord will work out his plans for my life—for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. (Psalm 138:8)
Lord,
Thank you that your Word is helpful to us as moms. May we choose to walk down paths that are true and right. May we live with integrity before our children. Amen.
