Wise Order
Wise Order
Read Proverbs 24
Do your planning and prepare your fields before building your house.
Proverbs 24:27
Initially, this proverb may read like a specific message for future homeowners. However, the proverb is actually illustrating a universal principle about proper order. Just as planning and preparation are necessary before the purchase of a new home, certain things must be done in sequence for greater success.
The applications of this principle are found in more than just agricultural and business matters. For example, there must be love before marriage. And ideally marriage comes before children. Getting these steps out of order can be devastating. The Bible teaches the importance of having order to show us something about God’s character. It shows us that he is a loving God—intricately involved and interested in our lives. What we do and how we do it matters to God.
A WORD FOR TODAY
Solid roots come before healthy fruit.
Today, Lord, I may be tempted to get ahead of you. Slow me down. Teach me the meaning of an orderly life.
