True Success
True Success
Read Proverbs 13
Godliness guards the path of the blameless, but the evil are misled by sin.
Proverbs 13:6
What describes godly living? We develop godliness when we seek to make choices in accordance with God’s will. These good decisions help us live successful lives. This is true even when the good results do not occur obviously or immediately.
Sometimes it may seem that poor choices will actually prosper us more than godly ones. Isn’t it easier to cheat and steal than it is to work hard?
While these choices may tempt us with their short-term benefits, they set in motion a series of events that eventually will destroy us. For instance, people who step on others to get to the top will find that they have no support when they finally get there.
When we choose to make honest decisions and follow God’s will for us, he will lead us into true success. The success wrought through godliness completely surpasses any temporary accomplishment gained through dishonesty. That’s what God calls a “whole-life” kind of success, and it lasts for eternity.
A WORD FOR TODAY
Godliness produces real success.
Today, Lord, show me how to make godly decisions in my work and at home with my family.
