Trusting In God’s Unfailing Love

Look what happens to mighty warriors

who do not trust in God.

They trust their wealth instead

and grow more and more bold in their wickedness.

But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God.

I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.

I will praise you forever, O God,

for what you have done.

I will trust in your good name

in the presence of your faithful people.

Psalm 52:7-9

Where do you place your trust? Without being aware of it, many of us start hoping that our own plans may succeed, that our friends may provide us support, or that our wealth may give us the security we need. Yet in the long run, all of these will fade away. Our plans are easily disrupted. Our friends may fail us. Our clothes, cars, and homes will begin to deteriorate. In the end, God is the only one who can provide true security. Those who place their trust in him will not be dismayed, for they will receive an eternal inheritance that can never be destroyed. God will never abandon them.

As you approach God in prayer today, express your complete dependence on him and your trust in him. Ask him to show you his good plan for your life.
