Solomon’s Prayer That God May Hear And Bless
Solomon’s Prayer That God May Hear and Bless
If your people Israel pray about their troubles or sorrow, raising their hands toward this Temple, then hear from heaven where you live, and forgive. Give your people what their actions deserve, for you alone know each human heart. Then they will fear you and walk in your ways as long as they live in the land you gave to our ancestors.
2 Chronicles 6:29-31
After the building of the Temple was completed, Solomon gathered the people to dedicate it to God and pray for the nation. Though his kingdom was at peace and riches were flowing into his treasury, Solomon knew that God was the source of all those blessings. If the people didn’t follow God, they would quickly lose his favor. So Solomon prayed that during those difficult times the Lord would have compassion on his people and listen to their pleas. God answered Solomon’s prayer. Again and again, he came to his people’s aid when they cried out to him.
Today God still takes pleasure in answering the prayers of his people. Don’t hesitate to turn to him for help and ask him to hear your pleas and forgive.
- Dear God, please hear me and forgive . . .
