Praising The Lord For His Goodness

Praise the LORD!

Praise the name of the LORD!

Praise him, you who serve the LORD,

you who serve in the house of the LORD,

in the courts of the house of our God.

Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;

celebrate his lovely name with music.

Psalm 135:1-3

God’s goodness is evident in so many aspects of our lives, and all our blessings come from him. For these reasons, some of our prayer time should be devoted to rejoicing in his goodness. The author of this prayer did just that. He called upon all God’s people gathered in the Temple for worship to praise the Lord for his goodness. Entire clans of people were dedicated to magnifying God Almighty. Some helped with the festivals and sacrifices. Others were trained musicians, leading the people in song. This prayer called upon all these people—and the common people as well—to celebrate God’s goodness.

Make certain that some of your prayers this coming week are devoted to praising God for his goodness to you and your family.
