Praise From The Gentiles

Praise from the Gentiles

He also came so that the Gentiles might give glory to God for his mercies to them. That is what the psalmist meant when he wrote:

“For this, I will praise you among the Gentiles;

I will sing praises to your name.”

And in another place it is written,

“Rejoice with his people,

you Gentiles.”

Romans 15:9-10

“Rejoice with his people, you Gentiles.” To us, this statement might not seem so radical. But in Paul’s day, many Jews regarded Gentiles as repulsive. But because Christ had come to this earth to save both Jews and Gentiles, Paul encouraged them to accept each other and even to pray together. He asked them to join their voices together in praising Jesus, their Savior. Jesus’ birth should inspire joy in everyone—even in the hearts of those people who are completely different from us.

Rejoice in your Savior. Determine today to set aside time during this busy season to celebrate with other believers the birth of our Savior.

  • Dear Lord, I, too, want to add my voice to those who sing praises to your name . . .
