Praise For The God Beyond Comparison

Who can be compared with the LORD our God,

who is enthroned on high?

He stoops to look down

on heaven and on earth.

He lifts the poor from the dust

and the needy from the garbage dump.

He sets them among princes,

even the princes of his own people!

He gives the childless woman a family,

making her a happy mother.

Praise the LORD!

Who can be compared to God? Comparisons only work between things in the same category. It’s foolish to compare the speed of a runner with the speed of an ice-skater. The two are participating in entirely different types of races. We run into the same problem when it comes to God. There is no one in God’s category! Who is strong enough for us to compare to the Almighty? The only way we can describe our infinite God is to recount what he has done for his people. He has lifted up the poor out of poverty. He has given a family to the childless. Who else could do such things?

Remind yourself of how great God is. Recount the ways God has worked in your life and in the lives of others. Then praise the Lord for his love and concern for you.
